Marineworks Participates in Taiwan IoS-OP Seminar
Marineworks will participate in the “Taiwan IoS-OP Seminar” hosted by the IoS-OP Consortium on April 16 in Taipei, Taiwan.
The seminar, attended by professionals from Taiwan’s maritime industry, will be virtually connected with Japan. Consortium members will introduce data ownership concepts as well as the rules and framework for ship IoT data sharing, including their respective digital solutions.
IoS-OP is a universal platform that enables the sharing of vessel operational data among shipbuilders, equipment manufacturers, and related service providers without compromising the revenue of data providers. This initiative is promoted by Ship Data Center Co., Ltd. (ShipDC) and operates under the supervision of the IoS-OP Consortium.
Developed in Japan, IoS-OP has recently gained significant attention in the industry as a unique and practical platform for collecting, distributing, and utilizing vessel operational data.
Marineworks plans to distribute seminar videos on the topics of “Smart Ship” and “Cyber Security” online by the end of May 2021.
As representatives of the consortium, participants include Marineworks, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK), Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK), and other leading organizations such as Nihon Shipyard Co., Ltd., Japan Weather Association, Sunflame Co., Ltd., Japan Engine Corporation, and BEMAC. These participants will present data-driven digital initiatives to stakeholders in Taiwan’s maritime industry.
